Take:
2 Adults (okay, for the purpose of this post, we are going to pretend we are… right? RIGHT. )
with 4 children each…
6 Boys (various ages, sizes and attitudes)
2 young ladies (as above… *sigh*)
Add:
As much time as you can make
A large dash of hope
Large helping of respect
Numerous cups of acceptance
Endless patience
Lashings of forgiveness
Bucket loads of caring
Boundless love
Plenty of flexibility
Infinite humour
Do:
Place into an appropriate household together gently.
Stir gently and watch carefully as it grows.
Remember to stop and enjoy at every possible opportunity.
Laugh lots.
Play together.
Know each other.
Be.
Repeat constantly.
Serve with a generous dollop of wit and garnish with plenty of creativity.
Enjoy.

Oh I love this! What an awesome way to look at blending families. Most people get too bogged down with the negatives.

I think we’ll rate this one with 5 stars and leave on the fridge.
Blended families are such a challenge, and it take more of every good thing to make them work, than it does the nuclear family. Sounds like you are doing a great job, and your recipe is a good reminder to me and I spend this holiday week with my step children

Here’s to an awesome holiday with your step children Wendy. It DOES take a lot more effort, I must say. But it’s sure worth it! Good luck. xxx
I think I need to print this out – sometimes it’s hard to have lashings of the all the right stuff, but I’m trying xx

I love this post
Love love LOVE it!
If ever two people were made for each other, it’s you pair. I love that after everything you have both been through in your lives, that you found each other and the stars aligned to allow you to be together.
As for the offspring… they couldn’t have asked for better parents.
